Let me take you back to a time when I was struggling as a coach.
In my first year, I managed to make $50,000, but deep down, I had no clue what I was doing. The lack of structure and guidance left me feeling like an amateur in a vast sea of uncertainty.
As the year came to a close, financial responsibilities weighed heavily on my shoulders and I found myself taking up a sales job to support my family.
However, I failed miserably at it and it was a tough blow to my self-esteem. Eventually, I landed a coaching job in a company where I truly learned what it meant to be a professional.
It was a turning point for me as I realised the importance of structure, dedication and the pursuit of excellence.
Having honed my skills in this new environment, I managed to make an impressive $170,000 in sales for the company. Emboldened by this success, I took a leap of faith and decided to venture out on my own again.
This time, I had a clear vision in mind – to create a community for Muslim coaches, therapists and consultants that catered specifically to their needs.
You see, I noticed that most coaching services out there were designed for non-Muslims.
The events I attended often made it difficult for me to maintain my Islamic values. There was music blaring, free mixing and a general atmosphere that made me feel uncomfortable.
I felt torn between wanting to grow my business and feeling guilty for compromising my religious beliefs.
The internal struggle was real and it left me with mixed feelings.
It was during this time that I realised the need to create a bigger community for Muslims that could seamlessly align business with deen (faith).
I wanted a place that felt like home, where I could be myself and where my values were respected. A place where prayer was prioritised and where I didn’t have to constantly be on guard about my religious beliefs.
So, I built a coaching programme around the deen, making it an integral part of our way of life rather than something separate from it.
Everything I did and every decision I made stemmed from the teachings of Islam and the Sunnah (traditions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ).

I stumbled upon the concept of Barakah Culture and it was like a divine revelation.
Barakah Culture is about how to achieve more with less, instead of more with more through sheer grit and exhaustive drive towards material gain.
I realised that our previous hustle-driven approach was rooted in personal success and ego, distracted by worldly desires and trapped in a scarcity mindset.
Barakah, on the other hand, was about seeking blessings from Allah ﷻ and making a genuine, long term impact.
It was about aligning our intentions and actions with the greater purpose of pleasing Him.
This was the key to finding fulfilment in our work and building a business that not only thrived but also brought us closer to our faith.

From that moment on, I knew that Barakah Culture would become the bedrock of our academy.
My mission was no longer just about financial gains; it was about creating a business that was rooted in the principles of Islam and driven by the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Now, I can confidently say that every step I take, every decision I make and every achievement I celebrate is fueled by the pursuit of Barakah.
Building a community that places its trust in Allah, valuing prayer and seeking His blessings in all aspects of our work has transformed our academy into a place of genuine growth and spiritual fulfilment.
This journey has been one of self-discovery, learning and unearthing the true purpose of my coaching business.
And as I look back, I am filled with gratitude for the struggles that led me to this realisation.
Today, I am committed to guiding aspiring Muslim coaches, therapists and consultants towards building their businesses on the foundation of Barakah Culture – a path that leads to lasting impact and a closer connection with Allah ﷻ.
